Membership

Information regarding membership

Library privileges are conferred through:
1) Access Cards: Permitting only reading access to the library.
2) Library Cards: Permitting borrowing of a book, by a member possessing a valid Access Card.

Library membership is non-transferable.

An identity size photograph will be required for all categories of membership.

Cheque payment for memberships will be accepted only on week days and Saturdays between 0930 Hrs to 1715 Hrs. Library cards and Access cards will also be issued only on week days and Saturdays during the same time.

Cash payment for memberships will be accepted only on weekdays between 1130 Hrs. to 1530 Hrs.

Books can be borrowed only after 10 days in case of cheque payment.

Membership once taken will not be changed. Students are requested to see the collection before they take the membership.

Book lending is limited to 15 days at a time.

Staff

All regular staff of C-DAC, Mumbai are members of the library and can avail of the library facilities.

Course Participants registered at C-DAC Juhu and Kharghar

Membership is open to all FPGDST and PGDIS students having valid Identity card valid for at least three months at the time of taking the membership. Reference facility is free for the students of C-DAC, Mumbai.

Membership can be taken on payment of Rs.600/- per year with a deposit of Rs.1800/-, offering book borrowing and reference facilities. An Access Card and a Library card will be issued. Borrowing privileges are available to those who produce an Access Card and a Library Card.

Alumni Membership

Membership is open to the past students of C-DAC, Mumbai Juhu, Nariman point and Kharghar on payment of Rs.900/- per year with a deposit of Rs.2500/-, offering book borrowing and reference facilities. An Access Card and a Library Card will be issued. Borrowing privileges are available to those who produce an Access Card and a Library Card. The Access Card (only) is available on payment of Rs.900/- per year.
Students who have completed their PGDST or FPGDST or APGDST can avail of this membership. Students will be required to join the Alumni Association before taking the Library membership. C-DAC, Mumbai Course section can be contacted for joining the Alumni Association.

Individual Membership for Outsiders

Computer Professional Membership

Apart from the C-DAC, Mumbai staff and students, membership is offered to interested computer professionals, subject to a case-by-case scrutiny of applications.
Applications can be given on a plain paper addressed to the Librarian stating the following:

Educational Qualification with a copy of the latest degree certificate
If employed, a brief description about the nature of work
Purpose of using the library
Complete address and contact number

Librarian can be contacted after a week to check if the application is approved.
Individual Membership is open to selected individuals on payment of Rs.2500/- per year with a deposit of Rs.2500/-, offering book borrowing and reference facilities. An Access Card and a Library Card will be issued. Borrowing privileges are available to those who produce an Access Card and a Library Card.

Corporate Individual Membership

Corporate Individual Membership is offered to computer professionals from IT industry. Selected Individuals can access the library on payment of Rs.2500/- per year with a deposit of Rs.2500/-, offering book borrowing and reference facilities. An Access Card and a Library Card will be issued. Borrowing privileges are available to those who produce an Access Card and a Library Card. Selected individuals can get Access Cards only, if they so prefer, on payment of Rs. 1500/- per year. This does not offer borrowing privileges.

Non-Corporate Individual Membership

Non-Corporate Individual Membership is offered to computer professionals who are Professors / Lecturers in a recognized College or University or pursuing their PhD and also to ex-employees of C-DAC Mumbai. Selected individuals can access the library on payment of Rs.1500/- per year with a deposit of Rs.2500/-, offering book borrowing and reference facilities. An Access Card and a Library Card will be issued. Borrowing privileges are available to those who produce an Access Card and a Library Card. Selected individuals can get Access Cards only, if they so prefer, on payment of Rs. 1000/- per year. This does not offer borrowing privileges.

Alumni Membership

Membership is open to the past students of C-DAC Juhu, Nariman point, Kharghar and C-DAC Mumbai’s Educational Affiliates on payment of Rs.900/- per year with a deposit of Rs.2500/-, offering book borrowing and reference facilities. An Access Card and a Library Card will be issued. Borrowing privileges are available to those who produce an Access Card and a Library Card. The Access Card (only) is available on payment of Rs.900/- per year. Students who have completed their PGDST or FPGDST or APGDST can avail of this membership. Short-term Membership

Short-term membership is open to students other than C-DAC, Mumbai Course students on payment of Rs.100/- for two weeks or Rs.50/- for 2 days. This does not offer borrowing privileges. A letter from the Head of the Institution will be required for this membership.
Membership for Technical Affiliates
Organisations/Companies which are Technical Affiliates to C-DAC, Mumbai are issued three Access Cards and three Library Cards free of charge. Additional Access Cards and Library Cards are available to staff of Technical Affiliates on payment of Rs.1500/- each per year and Rs. 2500/- per year with a deposit of Rs. 2500/- respectively, on production of a letter from the Coordinator of the Technical Affiliate scheme of the Company concerned.
