CNIP2010
C-DAC Mumbai & Bangalore (Electronic City) organized a two day International workshop on Critical National Infrastructure Protection – Information Security Perspective (CNIP 2010) jointly with IIT Gandhinagar and City University, London.
The Workshop was held on May 14-15, 2010 at Hotel Ramada Palm Grove - Juhu, Mumbai, India.
CNIP 2010 proved to be the first of its kind to provide a first-hand opportunity to discuss the current threats to the countries' critical infrastructure from electronic attacks, and chalk out counter-measures. The workshop highlighted the important issues related to information security and the challenges ahead.
Day 1 of the Indo-UK workshop saw the launching and demonstrations of the following two end-point security products developed by C-DAC Mumbai and Electronics City, Bangaluru. Announcement of GYN1000, a Network Intrusion Prevention was also made.
- Revival 1000 – A cost effective solution for critical data protection and Disaster Recovery.
- STARS – A two factor Authentication Solution for Web Based Services like E-Commerce.
Dr. F C Kohli, Ex-Deputy Chairman, Tata Consultancy Services launched the products and addressed the gathering.
Shri S Ramakrishnan, Former DG, C-DAC delivered the key-note address on Day -2 of the workshop. Prof. MuttuKrishnan Rajarajan, City University London and Prof. Dhiren Patel, IIT Gandhinagar gave their opening remarks. This session was followed by invited talks from various technical experts from academics, corporate and industry.
More than 90 participants participated in this workshop. These included delegates from Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkotta, IIT, TCS, ABB, IBM, C-DAC, Secure-matrix and City University, London.
