Welcome to Education Technology Unit (ETU)

The Educational Technology Unit aims to integrate the various scattered pieces of effort towards a better educational environment and spearhead new models and technologies for the Centre as well as for others. It will function as a technology bridge linking the course administration, course faculty and the course participants. This will cover development of technologies and infrastructure for improving the educational environment and seamless integration of these various constituents of the educational process. ETU activities are directed towards effective use of Information Technology in their activities, as well as providing input to C-DAC, Mumbai policy and strategy planning activities related to education and training.

The current activities of the group include: Sandesh - An Automatic Email Response System, Marathi Tutor – A constructive learning environment for learning Marathi, Veda - An Online Testing and Question Banking System, Subjective Evaluation Framework, Virtual Classroom and PCML - Pedagogy-oriented Content Markup Language. The group also offers specialized courses in online learning. The areas of research in the group are Instruction Design, Constructive Learning Environments, Assessment Technologies, Content Creation and Management, E-Learning Framework & Tools.
