eGovernance Service Discovery Framework

Project Overview

The primary objective of this project is to design and develop a framework for discovery of related services available in eGovernance domain. The framework will provide related services information for the user’s search criteria. The aim is to catalyze spread of eServices awareness amongst the citizen. The framework will capture all the information relevant for mining and analysis of services from the respective Service Providers. The mining of related services from a huge number of available services is a research challenge which will be addressed by us in this project. Mining of Constellation of Gateway logs in order to conduct analysis on the available services is also part of the framework. A Proof of Concept will be developed based on the proposed framework and will be tested for a specific case study in eGovernance domain.

Project Description

The aim of this project is design and development of framework for discovery of related services in eGovernance domain. Pruthak a tool prototype was developed by CDAC Electronic City. The tool provides preprocessing, frequent substructure discovery, dense substructure extraction and visualization techniques for graph representation of data. The tool is helpful for mining and analysis of relational data. Since we are aiming at discovery of related services, the expertise acquired in Pruthak will be instrumental in design and implementation of Service Repository component of the framework. Constellation of gateways (SSDG and NSDG) provides interoperability between various businesses and government department Service Providers (SP) and Service Access Points (SAP). The framework will capture all the information relevant for mining and analysis of services from the respective Service Providers and stored in a specified format in the Services Repository. The framework will also provide a model to support mining of related services from the huge number of available services. The relationship between services will also be stored in an appropriate format in Service Repository. The framework will enable the citizen to gather information about related services for their search criteria using the Online Search techniques. Mining of Constellation of Gateway logs in order to conduct analysis on the available services is also part of the framework. Log data will be used to conduct various analyses on the available services such as message flow analysis and Social Network Analysis. A Proof of Concept will be developed based on the proposed framework and will be tested for a specific case study in eGovernance domain.
